Air Arms S200 Airgun with S2.5x50 WML night vision scope

The Air Arms S200 is an ideal rifle to mount a night vision scope to due to its compactness, lightweight, accuracy and low cost. Up until now it has been very difficult to elegantly mount a night vision scope to this rifle due to the split rails and loading port location. Most mounting methods either required fitting a flat weaver rail across the top of the receiver which seriously impeded loading, or using the usual type of 11mm dovetail - weaver adapter which raise the scopes height significantly above the boreline.

The solution we have employed on this rifle is our new ultra low profile 11mm - weaver adapter bases which require no gunsmithing to install. They simply clamp to your existing scope rails with two brass set screws. Using this mounting method the scope centre line is only 2 1/4" above the bore centre which means your head position and cheek weld is almost identical to using a normal day scope. We believe this is the lowest profile mounted night vision scope solution on the market.

Here you can see a close up of the adapters and how they allow full access to the loading port. There is even enough room here to fit one of the after market side feeding multi-shot magazine systems. With the slightly higher version of our 11mm - weaver adapters you could even fit the clickload magazine system.

Anschutz XIV carbine .22 rimfire with NVS 4x50 night vision scope

The Anschutz XIV carbine in .22 rimfire is an ideal base for a night vision shooting system. It is compact, lightweight and extremely accurate. This rifle has been fitted with the short version of the Webley BBMF sound moderator. The overall length of the rifle including moderator is only 36". It's an ideal gun for stalking but comes into it's own when used from a vehicle. Due to the high performance of the scope rabbits are easily despatched at 75 yards and foxes at 50 yards. These ranges are not limited by the scope but the power and trajectory of the .22 rimfire subsonic cartridge! In fact this scope is more than adequate for mounting on a centre fire rifle for predator control at 150-200 yards!

Here you can see that the controls for the Gen2+ scope fall easily at the right hand so easy adjustments to reticle brightness and IR illuminator can be made with the rifle in the shoulder.

On the Anschutz it was not possible to mount the scope using the low profile adapters as the large bolt handle on the rifle collided with the knurled quick release knobs of the scope mount. The solution was to use the weaver rail supplied with the scope to mount the scope just a few millimetres higher so that the bolt could clear the mounts. As you can see due to the rearward mount the rail does not affect ejection.

Weihrauch HW66 .22 Hornet with day & night scopes

This is an example of how to put together a truly versatile shooting system. On the HW66 we have mounted 3 off our 11mm - 3/8" weaver adapter bases as a platform for our optics.

This gives us the choice of using the front two mounting points for dawn till dusk shooting with the PO 6x40 C illuminated reticle day scope.

Or using the back two mounting points for dusk till dawn shooting with the NVS4X50 G2+HP night vision scope.

Using the low profile mounting bases the night scope only sits 2 1/4" above the bore of the rifle and eye relief and cheek weld are not affected. The precision of the adapter bases, night scope QR mounts and the Leupold QRW mounts used with the day scope means that optics can be changed without loss of zero.

Alternatively fitting the new SM-3S2DN6 6x Day/Night Vision rifle scopes means you can switch from day/night modes at the turn of the mode dial. No scopes to swap, no parts to swap, no parts to add. It simply works 24 hours a day.
